Head of the Web Ecosystem
You will own the mid- and long-term strategy for JetBrains products for JavaScript and TypeScript developers.
This role focuses on aligning product direction, go-to-market efforts, and external partnerships with the rapidly evolving web development ecosystem. You will translate ecosystem signals—from frameworks and tooling to community practices—into clear strategic priorities for JetBrains products.
You will work closely with engineering, product management, marketing, and developer advocacy teams, and represent JetBrains in the broader web developer community.
Core Responsibilities
- Set the strategy and direction for JetBrains products for web developers. Initiate new product directions when important niches are under-addressed.
- Define the work for product management, marketing, developer advocacy, and partnerships in the web ecosystem, ensuring alignment with a cohesive plan.
- Track important changes and trends in the web community, including frameworks, tooling, major releases, new workflows, and evolving best practices.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including companies, open-source projects, and community leaders.
- Collaborate with engineering and QA leads to set priorities and plan work.
- Represent JetBrains in the web ecosystem at key events and meetings.
- Coordinate with other JetBrains ecosystems (e.g., Databases, Go, AI) where there is overlap and shared opportunities.

Requirements
- A deep understanding of how web developers work, including proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, major frameworks (especially React), Node.js, browser tooling, package managers, build tools, code quality tools (linting/formatting), testing, and performance optimization.
- Experience in setting product direction based on market needs as a Product Manager, Head of Product, or similar role.
- Experience leading cross-functional work across product management, marketing, developer advocacy, and business development, directly or via third-party leadership.
- Strong external-facing capabilities, including partnership development, community engagement, and executive-level communication.
- Ability to leverage data to drive decisions, combining community feedback with product usage and business results.
