Location: UK / Flexible

Base Salary: £130k (Negotiable depending on experience)

Our client is a leading UK Civil Engineering contractor with an enviable reputation for delivering complex infrastructure, highways, and major civil engineering works across the UK.

Due to the implementation of a bold growth plan and a commitment to expanding their forward order book, they now wish to appoint an experienced Head of Work Winning to lead their bidding, tendering, and work-winning operations.

The Role

  • Will report directly to the Board / Commercial Director and lead the strategic direction of all work-winning and tendering activities.
  • Will manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of Bid Managers, Estimators, and Bid Writers to ensure high submission standards across all bids.
  • Will work closely with Business Development, Pre-Construction, and Operations teams to identify target pipeline opportunities and maximize win rates.
  • Will oversee end-to-end bid management processes, ensuring that all proposals strictly align with client requirements, governance standards, and commercial parameters.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Will possess a proven track record of successful work winning and bid management within the UK Civil Engineering / Infrastructure sector.
  • Will ideally be degree-educated in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
  • Will demonstrate outstanding leadership and communication skills, with a track record of building and managing high-performing bid teams.
  • Will be keen to join a growing, forward-thinking business that offers long-term career progression and rewards success.
