Head of Workday
About the role
We are partnering with a leading global bank to appoint a Head of Workday. This senior leadership role owns the bank's global Workday platform end to end: strategy, roadmap, delivery, run and value.
You will turn Workday from a system of record into the backbone of an AI-enabled employee experience for tens of thousands of colleagues worldwide. You will lead a global product and engineering organisation, and be the senior point of accountability to HR, Technology, Finance, Risk and Workday itself.
Success will be measured in adoption, simplification, cost and control, not go-lives.
What you'll do
Strategy and roadmap
- Define and own the 3–5 year Workday platform strategy, aligned to Group HR and Technology strategy
- Prioritise the roadmap across HCM, Recruiting, Talent, Learning, Compensation, Absence, Time Tracking and Extend
- Lead adoption of Workday AI and agentic capabilities, and shape where Workday sits in the wider HR technology stack
Delivery and run
- Own platform health, including the twice-yearly release cycle, security configuration, data integrity and service performance
- Lead major change programmes, including module rollouts, country deployments, M&A integration and legacy decommissioning
- Oversee a robust integration architecture connecting Workday to payroll, finance, identity and data platforms

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
