About Stable Futures
Stable Futures is entering an exciting new phase of growth.
We are developing a brand-new Alternative Provision site to support Amegreen Education's new secondary SEN school, Juniper House. The new provision will include polytunnels, growing spaces and outdoor cooking facilities, creating meaningful, practical learning experiences for children and young people.
We are looking for an experienced and creative Horticulture & Culinary Lead to establish and lead this provision from the ground up.
About The Role
You will be responsible for the leadership, development and day-to-day running of the Horticulture and Outdoor Culinary Provision, working with learners aged 5-17.
You will design and deliver engaging programmes covering horticulture, food growing, outdoor cooking and life skills, creating "field to fork" experiences that link planting and harvesting with food preparation and cooking.
You will also lead and support a team of Learning Mentors, working closely with the Centre Manager and wider education team to create a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and day-to-day running of the Horticulture and Outdoor Culinary Provision.
- Develop polytunnels, growing areas, planting spaces and outdoor cooking facilities.
- Lead, support and develop a small team of Learning Mentors.
- Design and deliver practical, seasonal learning programmes covering horticulture, growing and cooking.
- Incorporate life skills, PSHE, independence and employability into learning.
- Deliver structured sessions linked to programmes such as ASDAN and AQA Unit Awards.
- Support learners with SEND through calm, consistent and therapeutic approaches.
- Develop careers and progression opportunities within horticulture, catering and land-based industries.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, food hygiene and risk management.
- Maintain accurate learner records and contribute to progress reporting.
- Work collaboratively with schools, families, Local Authorities and external partners.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
