Head of YouGov Sport UK

As the Head of YouGov Sport UK, you will lead one of YouGov’s key verticals in a high priority market for the company and sport sector specifically. This role will oversee commercial growth and client servicing excellence for the UK Sport division, and will report to the Global Head of YouGov Sport.

What will I be delivering?

  • Lead a commercially savvy, engaged, collaborative and high-performance team to support the Sport sector to achieve our ambitious growth targets.
  • Create, develop and maintain strong relationships across YouGov and work collaboratively with key stakeholders.
  • Develop a sales strategy and plan for UK Sport that identifies new prospects and growth of existing clients across YouGov’s syndicated, custom, and media offerings, including developing sales targets for direct reports and ensuring alignment with global Sport budget requirements.
  • Drive commercial sector knowledge and sales approach.
  • Support marketing activity for the sector and drive a year-round calendar of thought leadership initiatives.
  • Utilize and leverage key sales technologies (Salesforce + connected apps and tools).
  • Manage contract negotiations and extensions, license management, data management/security and integrations.
  • Support the Product & Data teams’ efforts to ensure the data we capture and the tools we use are appropriate for the sector and identify and fill any potential gaps.
  • Oversee the teams who service our UK Sport clients across syndicated subscriptions and custom projects.
  • Maintain strong communication with other cross-functional delivery teams to jointly own responsibility for projects sold to clients through their final delivery.
  • Manage workload and resourcing to ensure client needs are met in a timely and high-quality manner.
  • Support initiatives to evolve and improve our client deliverables and drive a culture of proactivity with client outreach aligned with the news cycle of the sport business industry.

What do I need to bring with me?

  • Leadership/management experience including a proven track record of leading high performance teams of 20+ individuals.
  • Professional relationships and deep contacts in the UK sport sector.
  • Experience on both the commercial and research/delivery side of a relevant B2B organization (such as market research, sport sponsorship/consulting, etc.).
  • Passionate about process/work-flow optimization, sales acumen, and data hygiene.
  • Category and product knowledge; a personal passion for Sport is a huge plus!
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills along with being a highly organized person; ability to interact with all levels in the organization.
  • Independent, self-starter who can work across the organization and build strong working relationships with a wide group of internal and external stakeholders.
