Yorkshire Young Musicians (YYM) is seeking an inspirational and experienced Head to lead the organisation into an exciting phase of development and expansion.

YYM is a Centre for Advanced Training in music, supporting ambitious young musicians aged 8–18 across Yorkshire and the Humber. Through Sunday music schools in Leeds and Hull, alongside our Hub Partner Programme, we provide exceptional musical education and progression opportunities to young people with high musical potential, regardless of background or financial circumstances.

Our programme combines individual tuition, ensembles, musicianship, performance and enrichment, delivered by outstanding professional musicians and tutors. We are passionate about developing confident, creative and curious young musicians, helping them to flourish both musically and personally.

The role

The Head will provide strategic and operational leadership for YYM, working closely with the Board, staff, families, music hubs, funders and regional partners to extend our reach, strengthen our impact and secure the organisation’s long-term sustainability.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
