Head Office Company Accountant
Woking (Hybrid)
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team playing a key role in our daily finance operations. You will be working alongside a talented, like-minded team for some of Europe’s largest frozen food brands including Birdseye, Aunt Bessie, Findus and Goodfella pizzas.
About the role
Working in the Group Financial Reporting Team, this is a key role involving the production of month end reporting and statutory reporting deliverables for headquarter entities. In doing so, financial control compliance must be maintained, whilst striving for process and procedure improvement.
Key Accountabilities
- Working with Colleagues across Head Office and the Shared Finance Centre (in Hammersmith) to ensure the timely and accurate submission of the monthly reporting process for headquarter companies
- Being responsible for the accuracy and completeness of accounting entries in SAP ECC through establishing working practices with Colleagues, reviewing journals and ensuring completeness of balance sheet reconciliations
- Able to get hands-on with journal preparation through cross-functional coordination
- Able to challenge and problem solve across all areas, especially financing, prepayments, accruals, capex and tax
- Supporting members of the shared finance centre, FP&A, Commercial Finance, tax and treasury Teams
- Completion of financial controls in accordance with the controls framework as required by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX)
- Preparation of monthly reporting packs for head office companies using the consolidation tool (SAP BPC)
- Assistance with preparation of head office statutory accounts (FRS 101)
- Assistance with the maintenance of the team intranet site (Sharepoint)
- Assistance with wider team deliverables, including the preparation of Group IFRS quarterly and annual financial reporting, which could include preparing consolidation journals and financial disclosures
- Supporting wider team projects impacting financial reporting.
- Liaison with internal and external auditors
- Any other ad-hoc tasks required to meet the needs of the Financial Reporting Group and its interaction with the wider audience of Stakeholders, e.g. Auditors, Treasury, Financial Planning and Analysis, Tax, legal, Companies House, ONS

About you
You will posses advanced skills in spreadsheet, word processing, and finance software, with strong knowledge of International Accounting Standards. You will bring solid experience in financial accounting, including experience in audit, fixed asset accounting, balance sheet reconciliations. Additionally, you will have proven expertise in people management, process development, and implementation. Holding a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, and/or a relevant professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
