Ardencote Manor | Hiddenwell Luxury Wellness Retreat

Salary: £46,000 per annum

Are you a talented pastry chef with a passion for creating exceptional food, developing people and delivering memorable guest experiences?

We’re looking for an experienced Pastry Head Chef to lead our pastry operation, working closely with our Executive Chef to deliver consistently high standards while bringing creativity, innovation and strong leadership to the kitchen.

What You'll Do

  • Leading and inspiring the team, creating a positive kitchen environment where people can learn, develop and perform at their best
  • Creating exceptional pastry dishes, ensuring quality, presentation and consistency are maintained at every service
  • Developing seasonal menus, using local and seasonal produce wherever possible and keeping up with evolving culinary trends
  • Bringing new ideas to the table, working with senior leaders to develop new dishes, concepts and ways of working
  • Maintaining outstanding standards, from recipes and preparation through to garnish and final presentation
  • Managing dietary and allergen requirements confidently and safely, working closely with other departments
  • Developing your people, providing training, coaching, recognition and clear direction to the kitchen team
  • Managing rotas and resources, making sure the kitchen has the right level of coverage for the needs of the business
  • Controlling food costs and waste, using effective stock management, portion control and accurate menu costing
  • Monitoring performance, including food GP, wage costs, sales and other key kitchen KPIs
  • Maintaining excellent food safety, ensuring HACCP, COSHH, allergen, hygiene and Health & Safety standards are consistently met
  • Leading by example, setting the pace, standards and behaviours you expect from your team

What You'll Do

  • Must take pride in developing and motivating a kitchen team
  • Must have an excellent eye for detail and presentation
  • Must enjoy creating seasonal, innovative dishes
  • Must understand food costing, GP, stock and waste management
  • Must be confident managing food safety, allergens and kitchen compliance
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with both kitchen and wider operational teams
  • Must be able to remain calm, organised and solutions-focused under pressure
  • Must set high standards and leads from the front

Additional Information

  • 45 hours per week – Full-Time permanent position
  • Working 5 days out of 7 per week (including weekends and bank holidays, you will need to be flexible to the business needs)
  • Shift Patterns: 7:30am-4:30pm 2:00pm-11:00pm 10:00am-7:00pm
  • Right to work in the UK required as time of application (visa sponsorship is not available)
