This is a fantastic opportunity for a RVN with ideally over 3 years’ experience to join us in our practice and help lead and support the nursing team. Your experience will be key in ensuring clinical standards remain high! As a practice we are passionate all our colleagues achieve their career goals, so we are happy to discuss and support certificates and CPD.

About Us
Our RVN’s are key players in the practice and we encourage nurse led clinics. We also expanded the surgery to fit in with this, and now have dedicated nursing consult room for our wonderful RVN team. Our practice is led by practice owner and Veterinary Surgeon, Alemu Shawakena with 6 years’ experience working in emergency and critical care who also performs orthopaedic surgeries and he has a passionate, close-knit team made up of 3 part time vets, 1 RVN, 1 SVN and experienced support team led by practice manager Veronica who is also a Mental Health First Aider.

About You
You will have a good experience of veterinary nursing, excellent customer service and communication skills, be an effective team player and able to use your own initiative when required. You are friendly, organised and down-to-earth, have a genuine interest in animal welfare and enjoy the variety provided by the clients and colleagues alike. You will not necessarily need to have experience with the broad range of cases seen in the practice but would need to be a fast learner who is keen to get involved in all parts of the job. Previous Clinical Coach experience would be advantageous but not essential, although an interest in becoming a Clinical Coach and supporting our students is a must.
Your Role
- Leading, supporting and inspiring the nursing and VCA team on a day-to-day basis, including training and mentoring
- Acting as a role model across all aspects of clinical nursing
- Help to streamline and optimise workflows to ensure smooth practice operations
- To champion nurse-led consults and support their growth within the practice
- Participating in appraisals, clinical audits, and team development initiatives
- Encouraging individual clinical interests and professional growth across the nursing team
