Head / Sr Manager Cybersecurity Defence & Resilience

Remote | Up to £150,000

We’re recruiting a Head of Cyber Defence & Resilience for a major UK-headquartered global organisation, taking ownership of its cyber defence strategy, Security Operations capability and ability to respond to and recover from serious cyber incidents.

This is a high-responsibility, highly visible leadership position where you'll work closely with senior technology and business leaders to ensure cyber threats don’t become business-critical events.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Define and lead the global cyber defence and resilience strategy
  • Establish, lead and mature the SOC and its operating model
  • Oversee 24 / 7 security monitoring, detection and incident response
  • Own and optimise core security capabilities including endpoint, email and secure access
  • Develop and continually improve incident response and crisis management plans
  • Lead cyber incident simulations and table-top exercises
  • Test ransomware, backup and recovery scenarios
  • Use real incidents and lessons learned to continuously strengthen security controls
  • Work closely with senior D&T and business leadership across multiple countries
  • Translate complex cyber threats into clear business risks and investment priorities
  • Ensure security operations remain aligned with relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practice

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with around 8–10+ years' cybersecurity experience who has progressed into significant responsibility across cyber defence, security operations and incident response.

You'll ideally have:

  • Strong SOC leadership experience
  • Experience building or significantly maturing Security Operations capabilities
  • Deep understanding of incident detection and response
  • Experience developing SOC strategies and incident response frameworks
  • Cyber resilience, ransomware, backup and recovery experience
  • Experience handling or preparing organisations for major cyber incidents
  • The ability to influence senior executives and operate across a complex global business
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity standards and best practices
  • CISSP, CISM or equivalent professional certification

Experience leading crisis response and cyber simulation/table-top exercises would be particularly valuable.
