Head Veterinary Nurse (RN/N/VN) – Medivet Bisley
Medivet Bisley is a community-focused practice where pets and their owners are treated like family. As part of our dedicated team, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional care with a friendly approach, supportive atmosphere, and genuine passion.
About the Role
As Head Veterinary Nurse, you will provide clinical leadership for our nursing team, ensuring we maintain the highest standards of clinical, regulatory, and operational compliance while delivering outstanding care to our clients, patients, and colleagues.
You’ll benefit from access to Medivet’s hub-and-spoke model, with 24-hour hospital support in Wokingham for complex cases. This includes access to:

You will also engage in an 8-hour shift every fourth weekend at our Wokingham 24-hour Hospital (alternating Saturdays and Sundays) and participate in the on-call rota. This valuable experience will allow you to:

Typical Responsibilities
Your role will primarily involve:
- Patient and client care: Lead nurse-led appointments, schedule 3 activities, and support consults, surgeries, and procedures adhering to all regulatory, practice, and operational standards
- Admissions and discharges: Manage daily patient monitoring and care, including the seamless transition of pets during admissions and discharges
- Clinical leadership: Inspire and develop the nursing team by fostering a patient-centric, collaborative culture
- Compliance and standards: Ensure all protocols and practice standards are met at every level
Requirements
- Registered RCVS Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
- Proven leadership experience and the ability to get the best from team members
- Passionate about exceptional patient and client care
- A collaborative mindset and the drive to grow and inspire teammates
- Experience and interest in hands-on clinical work, including nurse-led procedures and complex case management
