💻 What we’re looking for
TransferRoom is accelerating in 2026, having launched several brand new products to market and an ambitious development roadmap for the next 12 months.
The Strategy & Business Dev role is responsible for identifying, shaping, and executing the strategic growth opportunities that will define TransferRoom’s next phase of expansion.
Reporting directly to the President, the role combines strategic leadership, business development, partnerships, and commercial incubation. The position exists to ensure TransferRoom continuously expands its market opportunity, strengthens its ecosystem position, and converts emerging opportunities into scalable revenue.
The role operates as an internal entrepreneur and strategic operator, identifying high-potential opportunities, validating product-market fit, building initial commercial traction, and scaling initiatives to the point where they can transition into the core Revenue organization.
🏟️ Our Location
Our London office is at Bankside, with the commercial team located across the globe, as well as development teams in Poland and Ukraine.
Our office is naturally social, especially Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays, when we have regular team drinks, celebrations and five-a-side football.
🎯 Key responsibilities for the role
- Lead TransferRoom’s strategic growth agenda: Partner closely with the SLT to identify and execute the highest-impact strategic initiatives across the company
- Drive new business development and TAM expansion: Own the early-stage development of new strategic initiatives including identifying, testing, and scaling new market opportunities, customer segments, sports, geographies, and revenue streams for TransferRoom products and services
- Create repeatable proof of business: Validate new opportunities commercially and operationally before transitioning mature initiatives into the Revenue organization for long-term scaling
- Lead strategic partnerships: Develop and manage partnerships that strengthen TransferRoom’s ecosystem, brand positioning, distribution capabilities, and strategic access across football and adjacent industries
- Own inorganic growth opportunities (M&A): Identify, assess, and execute acquisition opportunities including sourcing, strategic evaluation, deal structuring, negotiations, due diligence, and post-integration support
- Lead pricing & packaging strategy: Drive ongoing evolution of pricing and packaging across TransferRoom’s growing product suite to maximize customer value capture and long-term monetization
- Support Board and executive strategic decision-making: Prepare strategic analysis, business cases, and Board materials to support high-quality executive and investor-level decision-making
- Strengthen TransferRoom’s industry leadership position: Shape strategic messaging, thought leadership, and event content that reinforces TransferRoom’s position as the leading global football marketplace and ecosystem platform
- Build and lead a focused strategic business development function: Manage and develop the company’s strategic incubation capabilities

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
