Role Description

The Headteacher will provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of a specialist school in Birmingham, ensuring high-quality education and care for neurodiverse children. This full-time, on-site role includes overseeing curriculum delivery, safeguarding, and inclusion, as well as monitoring teaching quality and student progress. The Headteacher will lead and develop staff teams, set clear expectations, and foster a collaborative culture focused on positive outcomes for learners. Responsibilities also include engaging with families and external professionals, managing budgets and resources effectively, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and inspection standards. The role requires a visible, approachable presence in school, promoting a safe, nurturing, and aspirational environment for all children and colleagues.

  • Strong background in Education and Pedagogy, with proven experience supporting neurodiverse learners.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Curriculum Development, including designing and implementing inclusive, differentiated programs.
  • Established Educational Leadership skills, including staff management, school improvement planning, and performance oversight.
  • Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with learners, families, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Relevant teaching qualification and leadership certification (e.g., QTS, NPQH or equivalent), with experience as a senior leader or Headteacher.
  • Sound understanding of safeguarding, SEN frameworks, and regulatory requirements within UK education.
  • Ability to use data to drive decision-making, maintain high standards, and deliver continuous improvement.
  • Resilience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive practice and the ethos of nurturing brighter futures for neurodiverse children.
