Could you be the kind, ambitious and community-minded Headteacher to lead Glemsford Primary Academy through its next chapter?
We are looking for an inspiring, values-led and child-centred leader with successful primary leadership experience, either as a serving Headteacher or a senior leader ready for the step up to Headship. You will bring the ability to set direction, raise expectations, strengthen culture and work with staff, families and the wider community to secure excellent outcomes for every pupil.
Glemsford Primary Academy is part of Unity Schools Partnership, a partnership of schools at the heart of our communities, working together so every child is known, included and receives a brilliant education that prepares them for a life of empowerment, fulfilment and success. Across our 40 primary, secondary and special schools in East Anglia and north-east London, we nurture ambition, collaboration and inclusion so that pupils and staff can flourish.
Why this role matters
Glemsford Primary Academy sits at the heart of its village community, with strong local links and a distinctive Grade II listed Victorian building that is an important part of the school’s identity. The Headteacher will play the pivotal role in ensuring children belong, enjoy learning and develop the confidence, knowledge and fluency they need for the next stage of life. Working with the Trust, the school team, families and local partners, you will strengthen the school’s culture, build on its traditions, remove barriers and lead with clarity, warmth and ambition so that pupils flourish as kind, confident citizens who celebrate difference and achieve beyond reasonable expectations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
