Are you an experienced SEN leader, Headteacher or senior education professional looking for an opportunity to lead a specialist setting and make a genuine difference to young people?
Ribbons & Reeves are working with a specialist SEND provision in Newham that is looking for an ambitious, experienced and compassionate Headteacher to lead the school and its staff team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a leader who understands the importance of high expectations, excellent teaching, safeguarding, strong relationships and a pupil-centred approach within specialist education.
The role involves:
- Providing strategic and day-to-day leadership across the school
- Setting a clear vision and culture for the provision
- Leading, motivating and developing the teaching and support teams
- Ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and pupil progress
- Overseeing behaviour, attendance, safeguarding and pastoral provision
- Supporting pupils with a range of SEND, SEMH and complex needs
- Working closely with parents, carers, local authorities and external professionals
- Monitoring pupil outcomes and driving continuous improvement
- Leading on school improvement and ensuring effective policies and procedures
- Managing and developing staff through coaching, support and performance management
- Ensuring the school meets its safeguarding, SEND and statutory responsibilities
- Working collaboratively with senior leaders and stakeholders to further develop the provision

We are looking for someone who:
- Has substantial leadership experience within SEND, specialist education, AP or PRU settings
- Has experience leading teams and overseeing the day-to-day running of an educational provision
- Has a strong understanding of SEND, safeguarding, behaviour and pastoral support
- Can provide calm, consistent and inspiring leadership
- Has high expectations for both pupils and staff
- Is confident working with families, professionals and external agencies
- Can demonstrate a track record of improving outcomes and developing staff
- Is passionate about ensuring every young person has access to a positive educational experience
- Holds QTS and has relevant senior leadership experience
