Health & Safety Advisor / Manager
Teesside (Initial 6-Month Project) | Permanent Midlands-Based Opportunity Thereafter
Up to £55,000 + Accommodation Provided + Benefits
Our client is a highly respected specialist demolition contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering complex, high-profile projects across the UK. Due to an urgent project, they are seeking a Health & Safety Advisor/Manager in Teesside.
The successful candidate will initially be based on-site in Teesside for approximately 6 months, with accommodation provided throughout the project. Upon completion, the role will transition into a permanent position supporting projects across the Midlands region, providing long-term career stability and progression.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated health and safety professional looking to join a forward-thinking contractor operating within a high-hazard environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Conducting site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Supporting project teams with risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Investigating incidents, near misses, and non-conformances.
- Delivering toolbox talks and health & safety briefings.
- Providing practical advice and support to site management teams.
- Monitoring compliance with legislative and company requirements.
- Developing strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and operational teams.
- Promoting continuous improvement across health and safety performance.
Ideal Experience
- Experience working as a Health & Safety Advisor, HSE Advisor, SHEQ Advisor, HSQE Advisor, or Health & Safety Manager.
- Demolition sector experience would be highly advantageous, but is not essential.
- Candidates with experience working on complex construction, infrastructure, industrial, civils, or major project environments are encouraged to apply.
- Experience working closely with project delivery teams in a site-based role.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A pragmatic approach to health and safety management.

Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum).
- IOSH Membership (or working towards).
- Full UK Driving Licence.

- Salary of up to £55,000, depending on experience.
- Accommodation provided during the initial Teesside project.
