Location: Home-based with some travel across the Midlands and surrounding counties
Contract: Permanent | Full-time
Salary: £42,500–£45,000, plus car allowance
Please note that candidates who do not currently hold a NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction Certificate, or an equivalent qualification, will start on a salary of £42,500 and will be required to complete the qualification while working at Anchor. Once achieved, their salary will increase to £45,000.

We’re looking for a Health and Safety Advisor to provide practical, proactive support to our Housing teams across the Midlands and surrounding counties.
Working closely with operational managers, Property and Assets colleagues and the wider Corporate Health and Safety team, you’ll help colleagues manage risks, understand their responsibilities and ensure effective controls are in place.

What you’ll be doing
- Providing practical health and safety advice to Location Managers and operational teams.
- Completing planned and risk-based assurance visits.
- Supporting risk assessments, safe systems of work and local health and safety arrangements.
- Investigating accidents and incidents, including RIDDOR-reportable incidents.
- Delivering health and safety training and awareness activities where required.
- Supporting the implementation and assurance of CDM and construction safety requirements.
- Identifying emerging risks, recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.

What you’ll bring
- Experience providing health and safety advice within a complex operational environment.
- A NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant CDM training or qualifications, or a willingness to work towards these.
- Experience of inspections, assurance visits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Strong communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
- The confidence to challenge unsafe practices constructively.
- A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel regularly across the region.
Experience within social housing, supported housing or care would be beneficial, alongside knowledge of HSG65, L153 and ISO 45001.
