Salary: Grade 3 (£41,435 - £42,897 per annum)

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 36.25 hours per week

Service area: Health and Safety, Progress Housing Group

Office basis: Agile. This is a visible, site-based role with regular travel across our services in the Northwest, balanced with home working flexibility.

The role

You'll help keep people safe across some of the most diverse services in the housing and care sector, from social housing and independent living schemes to homelessness services, supported accommodation and development projects.

You'll provide hands-on health and safety support across a wide range of services, including social housing, independent living, development, community services, homelessness and refuge provision, and accommodation for adults with additional needs.

Working closely with managers and colleagues, you'll carry out inspections, review risk assessments, investigate incidents and provide practical advice that helps teams manage risk and work safely every day.

No two days will be the same. You'll spend time out in our services and operational environments, supporting compliance, delivering training and helping to embed a positive and proactive health and safety culture across the organisation.

You'll have a genuine opportunity to influence how health and safety is managed across the Group, driving continuous improvement and making a meaningful difference to the wellbeing of our colleagues and customers.

Essential

What we’re looking for

  • NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (or equivalent).
  • TechIOSH status and evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Experience of working in a health and safety role, including advising on and applying health and safety legislation.
  • Thorough knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements and best practice.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Desirable

  • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health (or equivalent).
  • Experience of undertaking audits, inspections and incident investigations.
  • Experience of developing and delivering health and safety training.
  • Experience working within social housing, property compliance or similar operational environments.
  • Experience working within recognised management systems such as ISO 45001.
