The Role

The primary purpose of this role is to support the effective delivery of health, safety and environmental (HSE) management across the Burscough fabrication and plant operations. The role ensures compliance with legal and company requirements while promoting a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide day-to-day HSE advice and support to fabrication, plant and operational teams
  • Monitor compliance with company procedures, legal requirements and project standards
  • Assist in the development and review of risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work
  • Carry out regular inspections, audits and behavioural safety observations
  • Support incident reporting, investigations and root cause analysis, ensuring lessons learned are implemented
  • Maintain accurate HSE records, reports and documentation
  • Deliver or support toolbox talks, briefings and HSE communications
  • Work closely with supervisors and managers to identify and mitigate risks
  • Promote a positive safety culture and drive continual improvement across all activities

What We’re Looking For

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a Health & Safety role within construction, fabrication or engineering
  • Good understanding of UK HSE legislation and compliance requirements
  • Ability to influence and engage operational teams at all levels
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Competent IT skills for reporting and documentation
  • Relevant HSE qualification (e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent)
