Health & Safety Advisor

Health & Safety Advisor – Civil Engineering & Construction

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a growing civil engineering and construction business, supporting the safe delivery of a wide range of infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Health & Safety Advisor looking to develop their career within a well-established contractor that places safety, quality, and continuous improvement at the heart of everything it does.

As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will work closely with project teams to promote a positive safety culture, ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, and support the successful implementation of ISO 45001 management systems across multiple sites.

The Role

As a Health & Safety Advisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing day-to-day health and safety advice and guidance to site management teams.
  • Promoting a proactive and positive health and safety culture across all projects.
  • Ensuring compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation, CDM Regulations, company procedures, and client requirements.
  • Carrying out regular site inspections and audits to monitor standards and identify improvements.
  • Supporting supervisors with the completion of risk assessments, inspections, briefings, and other safety documentation.
  • Delivering toolbox talks and health, safety and wellbeing briefings.
  • Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Reviewing RAMS, method statements, and other project documentation to ensure compliance.
  • Supporting the implementation and ongoing management of the ISO 45001 Safety Management System.
  • Attending and leading safety meetings where required.
  • Producing reports and monitoring key health and safety performance indicators.
  • Building strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and operational teams.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
