Health & Safety Advisor

Job Overview

Onshore Technical are currently looking to speak with experienced Health & Safety Advisors for a permanent opportunity supporting REPEX gas mains replacement works in the Basingstoke area. This is a predominantly site-based role, covering works within a 30-mile radius of Basingstoke. The successful candidate will support operational teams with health, safety and environmental compliance across live utility works, helping to maintain safe, compliant and well-managed sites.

  • Working Pattern: Predominantly site based
  • Engagement: Permanent
  • Salary: £50,000 per annum
  • Package: Company car, car allowance or van
  • Sector: Gas Distribution / REPEX / Utilities

The Role

The Health & Safety Advisor will provide professional advice and support to site teams, project teams and management on health, safety and environmental matters. You will carry out site inspections, audits and tours, support incident reporting, promote best practice and help ensure works are delivered in line with legal, client and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support site teams with health, safety and environmental compliance
  • Carry out site inspections, audits and safety tours
  • Advise and guide operational teams on HSE responsibilities
  • Promote best practice across live works
  • Support incident reporting and investigations
  • Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings
  • Monitor compliance with HSEQ procedures and standards
  • Assist project teams in maintaining safe working practices
  • Support clear and timely HSEQ communication across the project

Experience Required

  • Previous H&S / SHEQ experience
  • Experience within construction, utilities, infrastructure or gas
  • Gas mains replacement / REPEX experience preferred
  • Confident carrying out site inspections and audits
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Able to advise, guide and challenge site teams where required
  • Comfortable working in a site-facing role
  • Full UK driving licence required
