THSP are an ambitious, Employee-Owned Health, Safety and HR consultancy supporting businesses across the UK.
For 34 years, we have helped businesses manage risk, meet their legal obligations and make sure people go home safely each day. We are continuing to grow our presence across Bedfordshire and are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Consultant to join our team.
This is a field-based, customer-facing role. You will spend most of your time visiting customer sites, carrying out audits, inspections and consultancy work, and helping businesses deal with real health and safety challenges.
You will work with customers across a range of sectors, with a particular focus on construction and higher-risk environments. Alongside providing practical advice, you will build strong relationships, represent THSP within the local business community and help us continue to grow across the region.
The Role
- You will conduct health and safety audits, inspections and consultancy visits across a varied customer base.
- You will produce clear, practical reports with recommendations that customers can understand and act on.
- You will provide proactive health and safety advice, helping customers manage risk and meet their legal responsibilities.
- You will develop policies, procedures, risk assessments and supporting documentation.
- You will deliver toolbox talks, presentations and training within your areas of competence.
- You will attend customer meetings and build strong, long-term working relationships.
- You will represent THSP at networking events, industry forums and local business events.
- You will work closely with colleagues to support customer retention and identify where customers may need further help.
- You will represent THSP professionally and demonstrate our values in every customer interaction.
About You
- You will need to be adaptable, communicate effectively and build strong working relationships with business owners, managers and employees.
- This role will suit someone who wants variety, responsibility and the opportunity to develop their career.
- It will not suit someone looking for a desk-based, fixed 9-to-5 role.
- Put the effort in and THSP will match it with hands-on coaching, strong support and opportunities to build experience that can be difficult to find elsewhere.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
