About The Role
This contract role seeks an experienced Health And Safety Contractor to join an automotive site in Wyton. Working full time, approximately 8am to 5pm, the successful candidate provides hands-on health, safety and environmental support, reviewing existing arrangements and addressing outstanding documentation and risk assessment needs. The position is offered through HSE Recruitment on an initial two to three month temporary basis, with potential extension, paying £400 to £450 per day inside IR35 via umbrella PAYE. Applicants should work independently, engage operational teams, and demonstrate strong knowledge of compliance, risk assessment and site safety practices. Immediate availability is required for this Cambridgeshire assignment.

The client requires an experienced HSE professional who can provide immediate practical support, review existing health and safety arrangements and help address outstanding documentation and risk assessment requirements.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable working independently, engaging with operational teams and making a positive impact from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day HSE support across the site and its operational activities.
- Review, update and complete risk assessments and method statements where required.
- Review existing HSE documentation and identify gaps or areas for improvement.
- Conduct gap analyses and develop practical action plans to address identified issues.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of effective health and safety procedures.
- Provide practical advice and guidance to managers and employees on HSE matters.
- Help ensure site activities comply with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Support ongoing site safety activities and assist with resolving outstanding HSE actions.
- Work independently, prioritising tasks and responding to the site's immediate HSE needs.

About You
- Proven experience in a hands-on HSE role within an automotive or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of risk assessments, HSE documentation and compliance requirements.
- Experience identifying gaps in existing systems and implementing practical improvements.
- Confident working independently and engaging with operational teams at all levels.
- A proactive, practical approach, with the ability to hit the ground running.
- Experience within automotive, vehicle refurbishment, engineering, manufacturing, workshops or a similar environment would be advantageous.
The Details
This is an initial 2–3 month contract, with a possibility of extension.
The client is looking for someone who can start as soon as possible.
Working hours are expected to be approximately 8am–5pm, although some flexibility may be required to support site operations.
Day rate £400-450 per day, inside IR35.
