Application Deadline: 19 September 2026

Department: People & Culture

Location: Skibo Castle, Highland

Compensation: £40,000 / year

Description

The Property & Maintenance team is crucial to the smooth operation of the Club and providing our members and guests with an exceptional experience during their stay. We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Lead to join this team and provide practical, balanced, and commercially aware health and safety advice and assurance across the estate.

This is not a role for someone who believes the answer to managing risk is simply to say no. We need someone who can understand our operation, build strong relationships, and help our people manage risk practically and proportionately.

About the Role

As a Health and Safety Lead, you will:

  • Review and understand our existing health and safety policies, procedures, risk assessments, audits, inspections, and records, ensuring recommendations from external consultants are considered, prioritised, and implemented where appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, strengthen, and improve our current approach, developing a clear and practical health and safety framework that works across the Club, Estate, and individual Departments.
  • Build strong relationships with managers and teams, working collaboratively to support consistent and effective health and safety practices across their areas.
  • Maintain our health and safety management system, documentation, records, and reporting.
  • Ensure we continue to meet relevant legal requirements and keep up to date with changes in legislation, regulation, and industry guidance.
  • Establish a sensible programme of inspections, reviews, and follow-up actions, ensuring any issues identified are addressed appropriately.
  • Support the management and investigation of workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying practical improvements where required.
  • Liaise with external specialists, recognising when matters can be managed internally and when specialist advice would add value.
  • Deliver engaging, relevant training and toolbox talks that help our people understand what good health and safety looks like in practice.
  • Provide clear, pragmatic advice on legal requirements, sensible precautions, and best practice.
  • Help build a positive health and safety culture where people feel confident making good decisions and understand that keeping each other safe is a shared responsibility.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
