Health & Safety Manager – Construction – Cardiff – Up to £65,000 + Package
An established and growing construction contractor is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join its senior leadership team based in Cardiff. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Health & Safety professional looking to take ownership of health, safety, and compliance across a diverse portfolio of construction projects throughout Wales.
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving a positive safety culture, ensuring legal compliance, and supporting project teams to deliver work safely, efficiently, and to the highest industry standards.
This is a key appointment within the business, offering genuine influence and the opportunity to shape the company's health and safety strategy.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of Health & Safety across multiple construction projects throughout Wales.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve Health & Safety policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Ensure compliance with current Health & Safety legislation, including CDM Regulations.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
- Produce detailed reports and present findings to senior management.
- Deliver toolbox talks, training sessions, and health & safety briefings.
- Support project teams during planning and delivery to ensure best practice is embedded from the outset.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies on all Health & Safety matters.
- Promote a proactive, positive safety culture across the organisation.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety professional with a strong background within the construction industry.
You Will Ideally Have
- Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager, HSE Manager, Health, Safety & Environment Manager, or similar role.
- Experience working within construction, civil engineering, or building projects.
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Membership of IOSH (GradIOSH or CMIOSH preferred).
- Excellent knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to influence teams at every level of the business.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across Wales.
