Health & Safety / SHEQ Manager
£55,000
Ipswich
We are working with a well established organisation to hire an experienced Health & Safety / SHEQ professional to support the continued development of its health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
This is a hands on leadership role for someone who can bring strong health and safety knowledge, support a team and work with stakeholders across the organisation to maintain high standards and drive continuous improvement.
The role
You will be responsible for:
- Leading, mentoring and supporting a team of SHEQ professionals
- Promoting a positive health and safety culture across the organisation
- Reviewing and improving health, safety, environmental and quality policies, procedures and working practices
- Monitoring SHEQ performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Supporting the organisation with regulatory and legislative compliance
- Working with internal stakeholders to ensure operational standards are maintained
- Providing guidance and advice on health and safety matters
- Supporting continuous improvement across SHEQ processes and standards

About you
We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety or SHEQ professional who is confident working with stakeholders and has experience of supporting or managing a team.

You will ideally have:
- At least 3 years' experience within Health & Safety, SHEQ or a similar role
- Experience within construction, utilities, engineering or another highly regulated environment
- Previous experience managing, mentoring or supporting a team
- NVQ Level 5 or 6 in Occupational Health & Safety, or a relevant equivalent qualification
- CertIOSH membership or working towards this
- NEBOSH Fire qualification
- CSCS card
