Jet Aire (DC) is a long-established UK drainage and environmental services specialist, founded in 1997 and now part of the Adler & Allan Group, providing advanced drainage cleaning, CCTV surveys, and remedial works to industrial, commercial and domestic clients with a team over 170 across three depots.

About Jet Aire:
Jet Aire is a leading provider of drainage, environmental, and infrastructure services across the Northeast of England. Specialising in CCTV surveys, high pressure jetting, trenchless repairs, and liquid waste management, Jet Aire delivers innovative and compliant solutions to commercial, industrial, and utility-sector clients. As part of the Adler & Allan Group, we operate a 24/7 service model focused on safety, operational excellence, environmental protection, and customer service, with a team of c.160 people and over 100 vehicles from three depots.
Purpose of the Role:
We’re on an exciting journey, and we need a Health, Safety Manager to join our team to support us in keeping our people and customers safe and well and our services compliant. The role will be the coordinator of all Health and Safety matters across Jet Aire, assisting operational managers, to inform, guide and protect the company, its employees and other relevant stakeholders while exercising plans and day-to-day activities.
The role will be responsible for ensuring Jet Aire has in place necessary and robust health, safety and environmental policies, systems, and controls to discharge its legislative and regulatory duties. The role will be responsible for producing an ongoing H&S improvement plan to further safeguard our people and customers.
The role will also work together with the wider Group H&S managers to ensure consistency with relevant practices, procedures, and systems, as well as sharing learning across the group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assisting managers in day-to-day H&S in line with our culture across Jet Aire and wider group, governance of our management systems across Jet Aire, and consistency in application of those management systems.
- Assists managers in setting and agreeing activity plans, objectives, and key performance indicators internally in respect of all H&S related matters.
- Supports individual teams with production of risk assessments, method statements using My Compliance Management for site / tasks as required.
- Works with Operational Managers to ensure that site work is carried out to a high standard of quality and safety.
- Manages ‘My Compliance’ supporting Managers, helping in ensuring the staff training matrix, asset register, safety equipment assets are all kept up to date.
- Assists with the completion of any PQQs that the Company receives.
- Acts as liaison between sales, operations, and office staff on all SHEQ issues, and assists operational managers in problem solving.
- Helps ensure that Jet Aire accreditations are maintained or new is obtained.
- Undertake investigations and determine the root cause, producing an action plan to prevent recurrence.
- Oversees environmental compliance and improvement.

General Responsibilities:
- Main point of contact for H&S topics and information, providing support to the wider business.
- Provide business reports and briefings as required.
Key Measurements:
- H&S KPI’s
- Depot standards, JASafe Always culture, and HSEQ behaviours and actions on site.
- Rapport and relationships with the depots and staff.
- H&S performance & improvement plan.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Proficient in software such as Excel, Word, etc.
- Strong industry background and interest in growing as H&S professional.
- Min. IOSH; NEBOSH desirable.
- Professional, logical, and calm manner – passionate about health & safety.
Personal Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Great team player.
- Polite and approachable.
- Must be detail conscious with a high regard for accuracy and well organized.
- Excellent administration skills are required.
