Job Introduction
Behind every relaxed airport lounge experience is a team making sure guests and colleagues are safe. At Sodexo Live!, our aviation business brings hospitality to life across a portfolio of around 17 lounges, and we’re looking for a Health & Safety Manager to help shape the standards that underpin that experience.
Joining our aviation senior team, you’ll work in a fast-paced environment where hospitality, safety and strong client relationships go hand in hand. With Heathrow as your main site and travel to airports including Gatwick, Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Glasgow, you’ll build relationships across a varied UK portfolio and see the impact of your work first hand.
This opportunity would suit someone with a catering background who enjoys working with people, has the confidence to challenge established ways of working and can turn safety requirements into practical solutions. You’ll have a voice in conversations with senior airline partners and operational leaders, helping everyone work towards shared standards while keeping an excellent guest experience in mind.
In return, you’ll have the autonomy to organise your diary, support from experienced health and safety colleagues and access to funded development opportunities. Whether you already work in a dedicated safety role or bring relevant qualifications and compliance experience from catering operations, this is an opportunity to develop your career in aviation hospitality.
What you’ll do
- Champion a positive health and safety culture across the aviation lounge portfolio, helping teams put safe working practices into action.
- Build strong relationships with airline clients, airport stakeholders and operational leaders, aligning Sodexo and client safety requirements and resolving challenges collaboratively.
- Support site teams with audits, inspections and preparation for Environmental Health Officer visits, ensuring actions are completed within agreed timescales.
- Guide managers through accident, near-miss and food safety incident reporting and investigations, identifying causes and practical measures to prevent recurrence.
- Work with culinary and lounge teams to maintain food safety standards, including effective hygiene and allergen controls.
- Identify training needs and support the delivery of practical guidance that builds confidence and capability across operational teams.
- Support new lounge mobilisations by establishing safety systems, documentation and a clear handover to site teams.
- Monitor compliance and safety performance, maintain accurate records and share findings with senior stakeholders to drive improvement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
