We’re looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our central Health & Safety team, supporting our operational teams across the North of the UK.
This is a hands-on, highly visible role where you’ll work with leaders across our funeral homes, care centres, crematoria, offices and other operational locations. You’ll provide expert advice, assurance and constructive challenge, helping us create safer workplaces and continuously improve our Health & Safety standards.
If you enjoy working with people, have the confidence to influence at all levels and like a role where no two days are the same, this could be the opportunity for you.

At Dignity, our mission is to help every family in Britain navigate the hardest moments of life with simplicity, dignity, kindness, and exceptional care.
Our people are at the heart of delivering that mission. As Health & Safety Manager, you’ll help ensure our colleagues have safe working environments and the right support, guidance, and knowledge to manage risk effectively.
You’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference across a large and varied operational network, working closely with leaders to strengthen our safety culture.

- Incident management - Support managers with accident and incident investigations, helping identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Business partnering - Build trusted relationships with operational leaders, providing practical advice and constructive challenge to improve standards.
- Risk management - Support teams with risk assessments, safe systems of work, and effective control measures.
- Training & coaching - Deliver engaging Health & Safety training and coach leaders to build confidence and promote positive safety behaviours.
- Data & reporting - Analyse Health & Safety data, identify trends, and provide clear insight to support decision-making.
- Continuous improvement - Help develop our Health & Safety Management Framework, policies, and processes and contribute to improvement projects.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
