Health & Safety Manager | Real Estate | London
Up to £70,000 + benefits | Permanent | Hybrid (3 days in the office)

Are you an experienced Health & Safety professional from an SME or medium sized Facilities Management or Property environment who enjoys building things rather than simply maintaining them?

This is an excellent opportunity to make a genuine impact.

We're working with a growing business who're looking for an Health & Safety Manager to take ownership of health, safety, risk and compliance across a diverse organisation.

This is not a big corporate box ticking role.

You'll be instrumental in developing and embedding best practice Health & Safety procedures, strengthening statutory compliance, improving contractor controls and creating practical frameworks that actually work for operational teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What you'll be doing:

  • Own and develop the group H&S framework, policies and procedures
  • Drive best practice across hard and soft FM operations
  • Oversee statutory property compliance including fire, asbestos, water hygiene, electrical, gas, lifts and more
  • Strengthen contractor management, RAMS and permit to work processes
  • Lead audits, inspections, investigations and continuous improvement
  • Develop risk registers, assurance processes and senior management reporting
  • Provide credible Health & Safety advice and challenge to operational and senior stakeholders
  • Build a positive and practical safety culture across the business

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has a strong Facilities Management background ideally with a hard services bias
  • Has operated in an SME or medium sized business where you've genuinely built and improved processes
  • Is comfortable creating structure, policy and best practice rather than inheriting a highly mature corporate framework
  • Has strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety and statutory property compliance
  • Can influence operational teams and senior stakeholders without creating unnecessary bureaucracy
  • Holds NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and is GradIOSH minimum with CMIOSH preferred
