Health & Safety Manager
Location: Central London
Rate: £330 per day
Hours: 08:00–18:00, Monday to Friday
Contract: 10–15 weeks
Blayze Group are currently seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a major construction project in the heart of the City of London.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile shell & core and fit out project, supporting the site team in maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and compliance.
The Role
As Health & Safety Manager, you will provide day-to-day advice and support to the project team, ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 and all relevant health & safety legislation.
You will work closely with site management, subcontractors, and trade managers to promote a positive safety culture and ensure health & safety systems, procedures, and standards are effectively implemented.
The project includes:
- Soft strip works
- Upgrade of toilet cores
- External louvre replacement
- New double-height events space
- New accessible tenant roof terraces
- Replacement of glazing and louvres
- Premium end-of-trip facilities, including cycling hubs and showers
- Advanced digital enablement
- Major retrofit works focused on reducing the building's carbon footprint

Key Responsibilities
- Advise and support the project team in meeting Principal Contractor duties under CDM 2015.
- Deliver site inductions and regular compliance checks.
- Review and maintain the Construction Phase Health & Safety Plan.
- Manage RAMS planning, review, and tracking.
- Undertake CSCS/CPCS verification and compliance checks.
- Complete subcontractor health & safety audits.
- Monitor inspection reports and ensure actions are closed out.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Produce monthly health & safety reports and attend Health & Safety Steering Group meetings.
- Monitor working at height activities and safe systems of work.
- Coordinate training records, medicals, and competency requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company IMS procedures and ISO accreditations.
- Coach and support the site management team to continually improve safety leadership and culture.

Candidate Requirements
- NEBOSH Certificate – essential.
- Minimum 10 years' health & safety experience within the construction industry.
- Strong experience across shell & core and commercial fit out projects.
- Excellent knowledge of CDM 2015 and current health & safety legislation.
- Working at Height competency.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confident, proactive, and engaging, with the ability to influence teams at all levels.
- Strong organizational and administration skills.
