POSITION OVERVIEW:

At EOS IT Solutions, the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager is a key part of the operations team playing a vital role in protecting employees in the workplace and on customer sites. They will use their expert knowledge and experience to control risks at work and ensure that organisations meet current safety, quality and environmental standards. They will report into the Director of Global Warehousing and have full autonomy for HSE&Q within the EOS group of companies in EMEA & APAC.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Develop and maintain an effective HSEQ Management System commensurate with ISO standards.
  • Monitoring and reviewing policies and procedures to ensure their effectiveness and implementing new protective and preventative measures as required by law, the wider EOS Group, clients or customer sites.
  • Promote and implement Health and Safety standards across Group sites which includes working with department managers to implement policies and procedures.
  • Develop and deliver a training programme in relation to health and safety and ensure all employees are appropriately trained and made aware of their responsibilities in relation to health and safety matters.
  • Responsible for identifying and preparing method statements & risk assessments (RAMS) COSHH assessments and ensuring effective communication across the business.
  • Investigate and record incidents, accidents, near misses, complaints, and cases of ill health and take responsibility for any follow up actions.
  • Audit, measure and reporting of HSE&Q performance through a full programme of documented Health & Safety inspections, audits, and checks.
  • Manage and devise the agenda for, chair and formulate & distribute minutes for the Health & Safety committee meetings. Ensure that all agreed action points are completed within deadlines.
  • Act as Group contact for relationships with accreditation bodies, external bodies and enforcement agencies ensuring recommendations and actions are fully met and complied with.
  • Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Minimum 4-5 years’ experience within a similar role.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (essential) or Diploma (desired) qualified.
  • Member of institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of working to ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO14001, ISO45001) is desirable.
  • Experience of formulating, implementing, and revising H&S policies and procedures.
  • Working within a multi-site International company
  • Experience of Managing H&S officers
  • You must have a full driving licence as this role will include some occasional travel.
  • Ability to work under own initiative.
