Based in the NEU Headquarters (London, WC1H 9BD)

Permanent, full-time

Commencing salary £66,030 per annum

The National Education Union is a force for change in the world of education, bringing together more than 500,000 educators in maintained and independent schools and colleges across the UK.

We are now seeking to recruit a Health and Safety Manager on a permanent, full-time basis to join our team in the NEU Headquarters office in London. The post holder will manage health & safety arrangements for all staff, ensuring the Union is compliant with H&S legislation and regulations as well as property management support to the Senior Administration Manager.

The successful applicant will need to hold both NEBOSH General Certificate and NEBOSH Fire Safety & Risk Management and have proven experience of leading and managing a Health & Safety Team to achieve agreed objectives, including the ability to develop, coach and train direct reports.

Able to manage conflicting demands – and working on their own initiative - they will need to be able to think innovatively and have a solution-focused problem-solving attitude, planning and executing agreed plans (including planning and managing a budget and resources) to ensure regulatory compliance.

We offer good conditions including a commencing salary of £66,030 per annum, 35 days’ annual leave plus Christmas closure days and a generous defined benefit pension scheme. Salary and benefits will be calculated pro-rata for part-time applicants.
