Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Health and Safety Manager role based in London. The Health and Safety Manager will oversee all health, safety, and environmental practices across sewer connection and drainage projects, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and company policies. - Conducting site inspections and risk assessments
- Developing and implementing safety procedures
- Monitoring corrective actions
- Delivering safety training and toolbox talks
- Investigating incidents and near misses
- Maintaining accurate records and reports

The Health and Safety Manager will collaborate closely with project managers, site supervisors, and operatives to promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Health & Safety and Occupational Health knowledge: with experience applying these principles in construction or civil engineering environments.
- Environment Health and Safety (EHS) expertise: including understanding of environmental regulations and best practices for tunnelling and drainage works.
- Safety Training skills: with proven ability to design and deliver engaging training sessions and toolbox talks to diverse site teams.
- NEBOSH (or equivalent) qualifications: demonstrating formal competence in health and safety management.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and report-writing skills: with the ability to challenge unsafe practices and build positive working relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities: including experience with risk assessments, method statements, and incident investigations.
- Relevant experience in utilities, tunnelling, or construction site operations: highly beneficial; membership of a professional safety body (e.g., IOSH) is an advantage.
- Solid organisational skills: and the ability to work independently on-site, managing multiple projects and priorities safely and efficiently.
