Role Description
The Health and Safety Manager is a 3 days a week role, on-site role based in Stockport. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures across the organization. Day-to-day tasks include conducting risk assessments, site inspections, and audits, as well as identifying hazards and recommending corrective actions. The Health and Safety Manager will deliver safety training and briefings, ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards, and maintain accurate records and reports. This role also involves collaborating with management and staff to promote a positive safety culture, managing incident investigations, and driving continuous improvement in health, safety, and occupational health practices.

Qualifications

- Strong Health & Safety knowledge, including experience in developing and implementing workplace safety procedures.
- Environment Health and Safety (EHS) and Occupational Health experience, with the ability to manage environmental and occupational risk controls.
- Safety Training skills, including designing and delivering training sessions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to diverse teams.
- Relevant NEBOSH qualification (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent) and up-to-date understanding of UK health and safety legislation.
- Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety auditing, with strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and promote a proactive safety culture.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities on-site in Stockport.
- Previous experience in a health and safety management role within professional services, construction, manufacturing, or similar environments is beneficial.
