Health and Safety Manager Midlands | UK Projects | Permanent
A leading international construction and engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Health and Safety Manager to support the delivery of a growing portfolio of major building projects across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a business delivering high-profile, technically challenging schemes, where you'll play a key role in driving safety performance, influencing leadership teams and embedding a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture across multiple projects.
The Role
Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will provide strategic and operational Health & Safety leadership across a portfolio of construction projects, working closely with project teams, supply chain partners and client representatives.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading the implementation of Health and Safety strategy across multiple projects.
- Providing expert advice and coaching to operational teams and senior management.
- Driving a proactive behavioural safety culture through visible leadership and engagement.
- Reviewing and assuring Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and Safe Systems of Work.
- Planning and delivering inspections, audits and assurance programmes.
- Leading incident investigations and ensuring robust corrective actions are implemented.
- Analysing H&S performance data and identifying trends to support continual improvement.
- Developing toolbox talks, safety campaigns and workforce communications.
- Supporting occupational health and wellbeing initiatives.
- Mentoring and developing Health & Safety Advisors within the wider team.
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, subcontractors and clients.

About You
We're interested in speaking with experienced Health & Safety professionals who can demonstrate:

- NEBOSH Diploma, Degree or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
- Significant experience working for a principal contractor within the construction sector.
- Strong understanding of UK construction legislation and CDM requirements.
- Experience supporting complex commercial, industrial or major build projects.
- Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH preferred or working towards).
- Incident investigation training and experience.
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
