Health & Safety Manager
Location: Woking, Surrey, with travel to UK sites
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + vehicle
About the Role
An established and growing UK business is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead and develop a proactive safety culture across its UK operations.
Based in Woking, you will provide hands-on Health & Safety support across field operations, warehouses, manufacturing environments and other UK sites. You will work closely with senior leaders and operational managers to ensure strong compliance, effective risk management and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion a proactive, safety-first culture across UK sites and business units.
- Provide practical Health & Safety advice, coaching and guidance to managers and operational teams.
- Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation, training and reporting requirements.
- Lead accident, near-miss and hazard investigations, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Support managers with risk assessments, COSHH assessments and safe systems of work.
- Lead Health & Safety inspections, audits, fire safety checks and workplace assessments.
- Develop and maintain Health & Safety policies, procedures and management systems.
- Monitor Health & Safety performance, identify trends and provide regular reporting to senior leadership.
- Lead Health & Safety forums and ensure agreed actions are completed.
- Keep the business updated on legislative changes and Health & Safety best practice.

About You
You will have:
- NEBOSH General Certificate, NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
- Technical IOSH membership or above.
- Proven Health & Safety experience, ideally within manufacturing, warehousing, field operations or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, risk management and incident investigation.
- Experience with audits, inspections, COSHH and fire safety.
- Experience analysing EHS data and implementing Health & Safety management systems.
- Good IT skills, including experience with digital H&S systems and tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who is proactive, approachable and solutions-focused, with the confidence to challenge and coach managers at all levels.
You should be comfortable working on-site, building relationships with operational teams, identifying risks and turning Health & Safety requirements into practical solutions. Strong communication, analytical and influencing skills are essential.
