Health & Safety Manager
Location: UK / Field-Based
Employment Type: Permanent
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + Car + Benefits
D7 Recruitment is partnering with a growing engineering and distribution business to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Manager. This is a visible, hands-on, and client-facing role supporting engineering and service teams working across customer sites throughout the UK.
The successful candidate will help drive consistent Health & Safety standards, working closely with operational teams, managers, and client stakeholders to improve performance, strengthen compliance, and build a positive safety culture.
This is not a desk-based role. You will be out in the business, supporting teams on client sites, influencing people, identifying improvements, and helping teams take greater ownership of Health & Safety.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing practical Health & Safety advice and support to teams working across client sites.
- Supporting consistent H&S standards, policies, and procedures across on-site service activities.
- Conducting site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses and driving corrective actions.
- Supporting the preparation and review of RAMS, permits, and safe systems of work.
- Ensuring appropriate contractor and site documentation is in place before work commences.
- Coaching and influencing managers and employees to improve safety ownership.
- Monitoring H&S performance and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Supporting training, communication, and behavioral safety initiatives.
- Helping improve and standardize H&S systems and processes.
- Producing clear reports, recommendations, and improvement actions.
- Working closely with internal teams, clients, and other key stakeholders.
- Travelling to client sites across the UK as required.

What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a practical and engaging Health & Safety professional with experience in operational environments such as:
- Engineering
- Manufacturing
- Industrial
- Technical services
You must have:
- Experience in a Health & Safety role within a similar operational environment.
- NEBOSH General Certificate.
- IOSH membership.
- Experience of CDM.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The confidence to work with operational teams, managers, contractors, and client representatives.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to Health & Safety.
- A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to client sites.
It would be advantageous if you also have:
- Broad procedural and operational Health & Safety experience.
- Experience working within engineering environments.
- Experience supporting construction-related activities or projects.
