Job Title: Health & Safety Manager
I am looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to take ownership of H&S across a varied property portfolio, spanning both commercial and residential assets. Including a large industrial estate, city-centre commercial offices, key retail assets and apartment complexes.
It’s a role that offers considerably more variety than the typical single-site H&S position. You’ll be working across different environments, risks and stakeholder groups, giving you the opportunity to apply your expertise in a practical way while shaping how Health & Safety is delivered across the wider portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Take the lead on developing and implementing the organisation’s Health & Safety strategy
- Ensure robust standards are in place
- Ensure the business meets its legislative and regulatory obligations
- Influence, challenge and improve the way H&S is approached across the portfolio
- Work with employees, contractors, customers and other stakeholders to build a positive and proactive safety culture

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Key Requirements
- Combine strong technical H&S knowledge with a practical, commercially aware approach
- Confident working independently
- Comfortable collaborating with operational teams
- Influencing people at different levels of an organisation
Experience
- Experience across commercial and residential environments would be particularly relevant
What’s in it for you?
With such a diverse portfolio, no two days are likely to look exactly the same. You could be dealing with the challenges of a large industrial environment one day, working with residential property teams the next, and then supporting H&S requirements across city-centre commercial premises.
