We are a family-owned Retail and Distribution business with our Head Office based in Dundee. Health & Safety Manager - Scotland

In this role you provide professional guidance and leadership on all Food, Health & Safety (including fire) and Environmental matters to the company and its business operations. The nature of our wholesale/retail operations will demand focus on Food hygiene and safety compliance in both food to go operations as well as a convenience retail environment. In addition, there are health & safety matters relating to our Distribution centre along with general health & safety and environmental issues. This role has responsibility for developing and maintaining health and safety management systems which deliver legislative adherence-policies, procedures and practices and enforce best practice proactive risk management. It will drive health & safety education and awareness programs throughout the company and gives pragmatic advice to management and employees on legislation affecting all departmental activities. It will also manage the day-to-day operations of the HSE Department.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Proven track record of leading and managing health & safety across multiple sites and Distribution Centre experience is essential.
  • NEBOSH Diploma/NVQ level 4 or equivalent.
  • Strong experience of regulatory reporting and interactions.
  • Track record of managing and monitoring process performance and continuous improvement.
  • Requires advanced verbal and written communication skills along with competent MS-Office skills.
  • Food Safety and Environmental qualifications would be desirable, however a willingness to progress these qualifications will be considered.

Although our Head Office is based in Dundee, given the location of many of our stores we can be flexible on location of the successful individual. However, the post requires regular travel.
