As our NVQ provision continues to grow, we're looking for an NVQ Assessor to support and assess learners working towards the Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Health and Safety Leadership and Management. You'll manage your own caseload, provide expert guidance and constructive feedback, and play a key role in helping learners successfully achieve their qualifications.

Job purpose, tasks and responsibilities
You'll be responsible for:
- Assessing learners working towards the Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and the Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Health and Safety Leadership and Management (both ProQual).
- Managing your own portfolio of learners, providing expert guidance and support throughout their qualification journey.
- Delivering timely, constructive feedback that helps learners stay engaged and progress towards successful completion.
- Conducting regular progress reviews and coaching conversations to monitor development and maintain momentum.
- Building strong relationships with learners, acting as a trusted point of contact and champion for their success.
- Carrying out Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) activities to support compliance and maintain assessment quality standards.
- Maintaining accurate learner records and ensuring all assessment documentation is completed to a high standard.
- Working collaboratively with the NVQ Manager and wider team to continuously improve the learner experience.
- Keeping up to date with developments in Health & Safety, assessment practices and awarding body requirements.

Essential and desirable capabilities
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A recognised assessor qualification, such as the A1 Assessor Award, Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment or Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement.
- Proven experience in assessing learners.
- CertIOSH status.
- A Level 6 qualification in Health and Safety.
- Practical, hands-on experience of health and safety management.
- Confidence using IT systems and learning management platforms.
- An IQA Qualification or a willingness to work towards achieving one.
We know it’s not a skill, but the successful candidate must have permission to work in the role’s location by the start of their employment.
