A leading engineering and manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Officer to join its growing team. With a strong commitment to employee wellbeing, operational excellence and environmental responsibility, this company offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of manufacturing, assembly and project-based activities while helping to drive a positive safety culture throughout the business.

Your New Role

As Health, Safety & Environmental Officer, you will provide expert guidance and support across manufacturing, assembly, office and site operations. Working closely with managers, employees, contractors and customers, you will ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation while promoting best practice across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the development and implementation of health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Producing and reviewing risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
  • Conducting workplace inspections, audits and site safety visits.
  • Investigating incidents, near misses and non-conformances, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Delivering employee inductions, toolbox talks and safety training sessions.
  • Monitoring compliance with current HSE legislation and company management systems.
  • Assisting with emergency preparedness planning and response procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate HSE records and documentation.
  • Building strong working relationships with internal teams, contractors and clients to promote continuous improvement.

What You'll Need to Succeed

To be considered for this position, you should have:

  • Previous experience within a Health, Safety and Environmental role in a manufacturing, engineering, construction or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of current UK and NI health and safety legislation.
  • Experience carrying out risk assessments, audits and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive approach to improving workplace safety standards.
  • NEBOSH qualification or equivalent (preferred).
  • Full driving licence and willingness to visit operational sites when required.
