Are you a hands-on Health & Safety professional looking for an opportunity to make a genuine impact within a fast-paced manufacturing environment?

We’re recruiting for a Health & Safety Officer to join a well-established and growing business operating within the food production/manufacturing Sector. This is a varied operational role supporting Health & Safety across production facilities and customer-facing sites, helping to drive compliance, continuous improvement and a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.

This role would suit someone who enjoys being visible on-site, working closely with operational teams and influencing best practice across a busy manufacturing environment.

The Role

Working closely with management and site teams, you’ll take ownership of a wide range of Health & Safety activities, helping ensure safe, compliant and efficient operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting site inspections, audits and workplace assessments across operational locations
  • Completing and reviewing risk assessments, identifying hazards and implementing control measures
  • Developing and maintaining Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and operational safety procedures
  • Supporting compliance across COSHH, manual handling, PPE, emergency procedures, workplace welfare and general manufacturing safety standards
  • Leading and supporting accident, incident and near miss investigations, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement
  • Delivering Health & Safety training, coaching and awareness initiatives to colleagues and management teams
  • Supporting Health & Safety reporting, policy development, audits and statutory compliance activities
  • Helping build and maintain a strong, practical and proactive safety culture

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
