We're offering an exciting secondment opportunity for a Health & Safety Officer to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being at the heart of site operations, influencing a strong safety culture, and working closely with colleagues across the business. As a Health & Safety Officer, you'll play a key role in helping our site remain safe, compliant, and prepared for whatever comes next, while gaining valuable experience and expanding your professional development within DHL Supply Chain.
A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE
As the Health & Safety Officer, you will support the Health & Safety Manager and site leadership team in delivering a proactive and engaging safety culture across the operation. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting the Health & Safety Manager and site management team with all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance, including Business Continuity Management (BCM).
- Supporting the communication, implementation and compliance of all relevant SHE (Safety, Health and Environment) policies across the site.
- Assisting the Health & Safety Manager and site management team with the delivery of Safety, Health and Environmental initiatives.
- Driving continuous improvement in Health & Safety performance through awareness campaigns, engagement activities and promoting best practice across the site.
- Helping to maintain a positive and proactive safety culture where everyone takes responsibility for health and safety.
- Providing day-to-day Safety, Health, Environmental and BCM guidance, support and advice to ensure compliance with all relevant legal and statutory requirements.

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- Previous Health & Safety responsibility within a warehouse and transport environment (essential).
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- The ability to build positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive approach with strong communication and influencing skills.
- NEBOSH National General Certificate (beneficial).
- Fire Safety qualifications or certifications (beneficial).
