Role Description
The Health and Safety Officer is a full-time, field-based role in Daventry, supporting all Mapleleaf Group divisions with consistent health and safety standards. This position is responsible for:

- Monitoring workplace practices
- Conducting risk assessments
- Ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations
The role includes:
- Developing and updating health and safety policies
- Delivering training and toolbox talks
- Promoting a strong safety culture across fuel, retail, and automotive operations
The Health and Safety Officer will:
- Investigate incidents
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Liaise with regulatory bodies where required
- Collaborate with managers to implement corrective and preventive actions
Routine site inspections and audits will be conducted to:
- Identify hazards
- Recommend improvements
- Support continuous safety performance enhancement
Qualifications
- Possess strong Health & Safety and Workplace Safety skills, with practical experience implementing safe systems of work.
- Candidates should possess NEBOSH certification (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent) or be working toward an equivalent safety qualification.
- Candidates should possess skills in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety auditing, preferably within fuel, retail, or automotive environments.
- Candidates should possess clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver training and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Candidates should possess strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety improvements.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in using basic IT tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, safety reporting systems); a valid driver’s licence and flexibility to visit multiple sites are beneficial.
- Relevant experience in a health and safety role and knowledge of UK regulations (e.g., HSE guidance) are highly beneficial.
