Job Title: Health & Safety Officer
Location: Central, with national Travel
Salary: £40,000 per annum (depending on experience), plus £5,000 car Allowance
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
About The Role
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Health & Safety Officer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced health and safety professional to play a key role in maintaining a safe, compliant, and positive working environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with current legislation, conducting audits and risk assessments, and supporting managers and employees with health and safety best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company standards.
- Deliver health and safety inductions and training to employees.
- Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, contractors, and external stakeholders as required.
- Support managers in implementing safe working practices across all departments.
- Monitor and report on health and safety performance metrics.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the organisation.

Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety Officer, Advisor, or similar position.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent qualification).
- Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation.
- Experience conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable
- Membership of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health).
- Experience within manufacturing, construction, logistics, facilities management, or a related sector.
- NEBOSH Diploma or higher-level Health & Safety qualification.
- Experience with ISO 45001 standards.
