Health & Safety Specialist (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract) leading to a full – time permanent role
Diversey-Solenis is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Specialist to support our commitment to maintaining a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace. This is a hands-on role within a COMAH-regulated chemical manufacturing environment, working closely with teams across the site to drive continuous improvement and strengthen our Zero Harm culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Support site compliance with Health & Safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with COMAH-related activities, including emergency plans, MAPP, and site security plans.
- Conduct risk assessments, COSHH assessments, audits, inspections, and hazard identification activities.
- Develop and maintain a robust portfolio of risk assessments and ensure resulting actions are implemented.
- Lead accident prevention initiatives and support the site's accident prevention and management plan.
- Carry out incident investigations, identify root causes, and drive effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Monitor H&S performance metrics and ensure actions are completed within required timescales.
- Support compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems through verification and auditing activities.
- Develop and deploy safety and environmental standards, guidance, and procedures.
- Act as a site SME for Process Safety Management (PSM), coordinating actions and supporting compliance with corporate and global standards.

About You
Essential:
- Previous EHS experience within a chemical manufacturing environment on a COMAH site.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and regulatory compliance.
- Extensive experience conducting risk assessments and COSHH assessments.
- Proven experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and implementing sustainable solutions.
- Experience auditing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence behavioral change and make sound risk-based decisions.
Desirable:
- Experience delivering safety inductions.
- Knowledge of Process Safety Management.
- Understanding of ATEX requirements.
