The Role

As a Health and Safety Training Assistant, you will play a vital role in strengthening safety culture across our nuclear and engineering operations. You will help design and deliver engaging training that ensures our people operate safely, confidently and in line with regulatory standards.

Day-to-day Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality health, safety and environmental training sessions across multiple locations
  • Review and update training materials to align with current legislation and company standards
  • Develop engaging digital learning packages for internal training platforms
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external bodies such as IOSH and ECITB
  • Maintain accurate training records and ensure documentation remains up to date

This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, typically 08:00 to 16:00, with flexible and hybrid working available, although regular onsite presence is required. This role can be based across any of our sites including Bristol, Cheshire, Leicester, Berkshire or Cumbria.

Essential Experience:

  • Demonstrating experience delivering face-to-face and/or virtual training sessions
  • Applying strong working knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
  • Using clear communication and presentation skills to engage diverse audiences
  • Collaborating effectively with stakeholders across different teams and locations
  • Managing and updating training materials in a structured and organised way

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 (or equivalent) accredited Health and Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Safety)
  • Recognised training or teaching qualification from an accredited body
  • Minimum Tech IOSH membership (or working towards) with active CPD
  • Experience delivering IOSH training (such as Managing Safely) is advantageous
  • First-Aid Trainer or Mental Health First-Aid England Trainer qualifications advantageous

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain UK - Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Further details are available at United Kingdom Security Vetting: clearance levels - GOV.UK
