About the Role: Health and Social Care Teacher
Activate Learning is seeking a dedicated Health and Social Care Teacher eager to share their expertise and contribute to the education of others, teaching on our levels 1-3 Health and Social Care courses.
If you possess experience in health and social care, this opportunity could mark the beginning of a fulfilling teaching career.
Responsibilities
As a Health and Social Care Teacher, you will:
- Collaborate with our teaching team to deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons to a diverse student body.
- Utilize our modern Care Skills Training Centres at each campus to help students refine their skills for clinical industry placements and future employment opportunities.
- Act as a Study Programme Owner, supporting students by maintaining communication with families and engaging students through regular one-to-one meetings.
- Monitor student progress and collaborate closely with subject teachers to ensure students are reaching their full potential.
Job Details
This is a permanent, full-time position based at our Reading College campus. We would also consider applications from candidates who could only work part-time.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking individuals who can serve as exemplary role models for our students, ensuring they depart with not only professional Health and Social Care qualifications but also with the essential attributes for success in the professional world. An authentic dedication to guiding and nurturing young individuals is a fundamental requirement.
To teach this subject, you should have relevant experience and knowledge in the health and social care sector, which could include being a registered nurse, working in a nursing home, or holding other relevant healthcare roles that involve adult care.
While prior teaching experience or qualifications are advantageous, they are not mandatory. If you possess the requisite qualifications to teach in our Health and Social Care courses and exhibit the qualities of an inspiring educator, we are committed to providing the necessary training, development, and support to prepare you for teaching in the FE sector.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential:
- Level 3 or above qualification and experience in the Health and Social Care sector.
- Extensive experience within the health and social care sector.
- Strong organisational abilities, coupled with effective prioritisation skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to deliver engaging and purposeful lessons to a diverse student body.

- Teaching qualification and experience within education as a teacher.
