Job Overview
The post holder will work as part of a team that provides mental health services to patients within an In-Patient Assessment Unit. All units deliver services 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
The post holder will be providing patient care, with developed clinical skills, whilst providing a supportive and supervisory role to Healthcare Support Workers (HCSW’s).
The post holder will be required to support the assessment and delivery of patient care as prescribed by the multidisciplinary team. They will be expected to act under indirect supervision, in line with the All-Wales Guidelines for Delegation and within the guidelines of the patient’s care plan and models of best practice.
The post holder is expected to maintain a good positive working relationship with members of the multidisciplinary team which includes HCSW’s, CPN’s, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Dieticians, Psychologists Speech, Podiatry and Language therapists, District Nurses, Consultants, other medics and voluntary groups.
The post holder will be expected to attend and fully complete an agreed induction programme and undertake on-going training relevant to the role. They will also be expected to achieve the educational attainments relevant to the role.

Main duties of the job
- Working on Anwylfan Ward
- Providing direct patient care on a dementia assessment unit
- Providing personal care
- Completing physical health observations
- Engaging in therapeutic observations
- Working as part of the multi-disciplinary team
